Frequently asked questions.

  • Wrong Kirby, but thank you Google.

  • Let’s first talk about the magnetic friction collet, exclusively available from Kirby Tool. Our collet does not require any torque to be applied to the collet. It’s dangerous to be tightening/loosening with ones fingers so close the a razor sharp blade! Blade changes with our collet are as simple as pulling the blade straight out and placing a new blade in the slot.

We consider this knife to be a premium alternative to the standard precision hobby knife. Most of our handles are made from stainless steel, not aluminum. The majority of our customers state that they prefer the added weight.

In addition to our stainless steel models, we will soon be offering a multitude of limited edition handles made from exotic materials and complimented with enhanced aesthetics.

  • These are short production runs or one-off creations. Whereas most of the stainless steel parts are mass produced through a manufacturing partner, these handles will mainly consist of parts produced on manual machines.

These handles will usually incorporate materials and processes that otherwise would be too costly to mass produce at our current rates.

  • Well, really why are those other brands so cheap? Those other brands can be had at a fraction of the price, but at the scale those companies operate they have been reduced to producing quantity over quality.

While we hope our prices will continue to fall, we believe they are priced fairly. These handles are made in the United States, assembled, finished, and inspected by hand.

We also intend to produce tools that will last a lifetime. That is not a cheap task.

  • See the Contact Us page or DM on Instagram.

  • Those tools will be around for sale someday.

  • Our stainless steel handles and collets are produced through our manufacturing partners. These come to us in raw form, requiring hand finishing for brushed and polished models. All other steps, including exterior finish, assembly, and inspection are performed by hand.

All other materials are currently produced in-house. If you buy a brass or titanium handle for example, those were machined on a manual lathe, one at a time.

  • Simple rules: discount codes will often omit certain categories. We know this may seem unfortunate but there are some items we simply can’t allow that steep of a discount.

Most codes will only work once per e-mail address. So, use another e-mail address if you must be a rulebreaker.

No lies, we will remove feedback that is damaging to our brand. Honest negative feedback about the product won’t be removed. You can always reach out to us and we’ll do our best to make it right.

Check out our IG and the comments customers have left. Ask one of them if you are still weary about making a purchase. We have shipped hundreds of these handles since launching in October of 2022 and for good reasons. On another note, as of 4/22/2023, we haven’t had to issue a single refund/return. We have gladly issued a couple of exchanges. Work with us, as we are here to not only provide exceptional products but exceptional customer service.

I’ll summarize what we have removed:

-The handle was too small for their big hands. Okay, but you didn’t reach out for a return/refund and the dimensions are listed in imperial and metric. 3/5 stars

-Blades are wobbly when using knock-off, no name blades. Cheap import blades are going to likely be made >.001” thinner than name brand blades. 3/5 stars

-Intentionally dropped their knife blade first into a hole within some desk organizer, when they pulled the handle out the blade was stuck down the hole as it became lodged in the wood. Don’t store your handle blade first in a deep wooden hole. 1/5 stars
